Doll-Arte

by olga sapegina

Paul Poiret, the Parisian master Couturier, once said,  “At the very least, ladies of social standing should have fashionably dressed dolls gracing their boudoirs, or as ornaments in their drawing rooms”. The doll, which had for so long been strictly for children, suddenly had a new audience amongst the adult elite and today they are a treasured possesion of the modern woman. These dolls, usually female, have  an air of softness, vulnerability and showcase the  phenomenon of true feminine grace.
